In October of 1997, in the middle of a trip around the world, the filmmaker visited Daramsala in India, the home of the Tibetan government in exile. On first glance, it was a peaceful town where Indians and Tibetans exist together. The director, a third-generation Japanese Korean, met Tibetans who live in another country as “immigrants,” much like he does.
